" ..vow to shut down other facilities at the expiration of the deadline"
Following the shut down of Shell Petroleum Development Company SPDC's Rig in Egbemo-Angalabiri/ Agbidiama domain, Ekeremor LGA of Bayelsa State over the weekend, the community has issued a 7 (seven) day ultimatum to the company to either meet their demands or face the full wrath of the community.
Speaking exclusively with GreeNews correspondent on Telephone, Comr. Alex Benikama stated that "the community will not hesitate to shut down other facilities of SHELL if they refused to listen to us."
"I can confirm to you that we are currently talking. The Bayelsa State Govt has waded into the matter & instructed Shell to look into our demands. We are waiting for their positive response" he said
"But if they fail to do or say something positive, we will have no choice than to shut down all Shell's facilities in our domain"
"We have given them 7 (seven) days ultimatum to do the needful or face stiffer sanctions from us" he concluded.
