The re-election bid of Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa receive a boost recently as a group endorsed him for a second term in office.
The Group known as #Team Ejinyere 4 Okowa 2019 made this known in Orerokpe, the headquarters of Okpe LGA during the official opening of their National secretariat.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of members, supporters & political Associates during the event, the National Director of the Group, Hon. (Chief) Godwin Ejinyere, immediate past Chairman of Okpe LGA and SSA to Gov. Okowa, stated that the group is set to mobilize the grassroot for Governor Okowa's re-election come 2019.
Ejinyere noted that Okpe as a Local Govt has benefitted immensely from the SMART/prosperity agenda of Okowa's administration in the past two years in terms of good road networks, Agriculture, empowerment, youth development and other social amenities.
"This team is strictly for Okowa's business come 2019. We are here to formally declare this Administrative office open and also endorse Gov. Okowa for re-election come 2019"
"We will be fully involved in preaching the prosperity message to the good people of Okpe. Okowa has done well for us, its time to thank and re-pay him for all his selfless service, not only to Okpe but Delta as a whole" he stated amidst cheers from supporters.
Declaring the administrative office open, Former PDP Delta State Chairman, Chief Edwin Uzor, represented by Chief Freeborn Ayoma called on all true sons and daughters of Okpe to make this Group a rallying point within the PDP towards the actualization of Gov. Okowa's second term.
Uzor also called on Deltans to be patient with Gov. Okowa and give him the necessary support now and in 2019.
The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Alfred Mrakpor solicited the support of all Okpe indigenes towards the realization of this singular goal of ensuring Okowa & PDP's victory in the next general elections at all levels.
The opening ceremony was attended by prominent politicians within and outside Okpe. These include; Chief Rose Oyovbaire (representing Prof. Sam Oyovbaire) Chief Barr. Ejaife Odebela (Immediate past chairman, Sapele LGA) Hon. Philo Ededey (Member, SUBEB) Hon. Best Okoromadu (Vice-Chairman, Okpe LGA) Chief Cosmas Ighoraye, Hon. Raymond Edijala (Former Transition Committee Chairman, Udu LGA) Chief Freeborn Ayoma, Chief Doris Okegbe, leaders, youths & women from the various Wards in Okpe, Friends and well wishers.
Also present is the winner of the 2017 Big Brother Reality TV show, Efe popularly known as "based on logistics" who came with his team from Lagos.
