Aladja vs Ogbe-Ijoh: Ayoma Appeal To Oborevwori To End Crisis

By Sunday Apah
A prominent Urhobo traditional chief, Olorogun Freeborn Ayoma, has appealed to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to resolve the age-long crisis between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities in Udu and Warri South West Local Government Areas of Delta state.

Ayoma who made the appeal when some members of Aladja community paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Orhuwhorun, also appealed to the Governor to call-off the curfew as it's making life difficult for the people.

He said "it is very painful to see fellow Deltans suffering in the name of crisis. Inspite of the hardship that we are currently passing through with the upsurge in fuel price, our people have less than ten hours daily to go about their businesses as they return home by 3pm because curfew begins by 4pm to 6am.

"Now that both communities' youths have agreed to remain peaceful before security agencies, the curfew should be called off".

Ayoma alleged that some selfish persons from both communities don't want the crisis to end as they are using it to enrich themselves.

According to him, "when l visited aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh few days ago between 1pm-2pm, it looks like a graveyard. No visible economic activities. Most of the people were indoors for fear of the unknown.

"I want to clearly state that after God, comes government in terms of power, so it should do all it take to end the crisis as quick as possible to allow the people of both communities enjoy normal life", he reiterated.
