Avworo said in a statement that Senator Ighoyota Amori of the PDP had won the election following a protracted legal dispute at the National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal in Asaba, Delta State, on September 12, 2023.

In order to assure his win in the senatorial rematch, he further emphasised that the tribunal's decision might be seen as a further reinforcement of the people's will. He further pledged to mobilise support in some wards.

"I congratulate and welcome Senator Ighoyota."Amori makes the steadfast commitment to advance the greatest interests of the Urhobo people and other Delta Central residents.

To ensure that the development trajectory of Delta Central is improved and sustained for an equal, fair, and just Delta State that will be the destination for more investment and youth capacity building, he added: "I will engage our distinguished senator in constructive, effective, and responsible opposition."

The ADC candidate also expressed gratitude to his parents, siblings, the party's leadership, and the throngs of people who supported him financially and morally.

Even if I didn't succeed in obtaining the Delta Central people's mandate for strong representation in the Red Chambers, I am incredibly appreciative that the ADC and its star alliance partners have altered the political landscape in Nigeria and Delta Central and established a historically significant, patriotic, practical, and responsible form of politics where the interests of the people are prioritised.

Avworo expressed his immense gratitude for the chance to run for one of Nigeria's highest public offices with the sole objective of improving the lives of his people, something he has been actively doing for the last several years of his life.
