WUEDA Says No Going Back on Deadlines for Completing Storm Water Drainage Projects in Warri, Uvwie.
...Charges CCECC, Levant, to redouble efforts.
The Director General of Warri Uvwie and Environs Special Area Devt Agency, WUEDA, Prince Godwin Ejinyere says the February 2024 deadline given to CCECC to complete the storm water drainage and road projects awarded to it by the Delta State Govt, remains unchanged.
Hon. Ejinyere stated this in Warri at the weekend shortly after inspecting some drainage and road projects in Warri and Uvwie under WUEDA's supervision, to ascertain the extent of work done by the two construction companies in compliance with the Jan. and Feb. deadlines issued by WUEDA.
Engr. Ejinyere noted that about two months ago, while on routine and unscheduled inspection visits to project sites, he gave China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, CCECC, February 2024 as deadline to complete and deliver its jobs unfailingly.
He said in order to achieve this goal, he directed the CCECC to mobilize more workers and equipment to site, and increase the number of work hours per day, as the Agency would not shift the February deadline by one day.
Prince Ejinyere, a former Executive Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring and Evaluation said another firm, Levant Construction Company was also given January 2024 as its deadline to complete and deliver similar projects awarded to it by the State Government.
He advised the two construction firms to complete and deliver their jobs within the respective time frames given to them, as anything short of that will not be accepted by the Agency and the State Government. He emphasized that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was very determined to rid the Oil City of flooding in the next rainy season.
