SHERIFF OBOREVWORI U-17 UNITY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT - Ethiope West trash Okpe Five Goals to One at Oghara Township Stadium.
The ongoing Sheriff Oborevwori U-17 Unity Football Cup Competition, powered by Arthur Fedinand Limited, featured two more matches at the weekend with Ethiope West LGA thrashing Okpe LGA 5 goals to one at the Oghara Township Stadium on Sunday.

Peace Onovughe was the greatest scorer of the match, scoring 4 out of the 5 goals for Ethiope West, while Okpe LGA pulled back one in the second half amidst heavy rainfall, ending the match five goals to one at full time.
 
Earlier on Saturday, Ughelli North LGA beat Sapele LGA by one goal to nothing on Ogor Technical College football field, Ogor. The goal was scored by Obaroara Rhema. All efforts by Sapele to equalize proved abortive, leaving the visiting team with no goal despite reporting punctually for the match.

Speaking to newsmen at Ogor on behalf of the LOC Chairman, Ex-international Edema Fuludu, MON, the Vice Chairman, Mr. Victor Odairi advised Local Govt Area FA officials to provide the necessary facilities for hosting matches in their various venues to avoid sanctions. 

Evaluating the Oghara match on Sunday, the LOC Chairman, Edema Fuludu commended match officials and LOC members for their respective roles. He also charged all Local Govt Area FA officials to get their venues ready for matches to avoid hitches, in line with FIFA standards.

The immediate past DFA Chairman, Chief Kenneth Nwaomucha was amongst other very notable football administrators that watched the Oghara match. 

In a statement, the Chief Adviser to the LOC, Hon. Prince Godwin Ejinyere expressed his satisfaction with the quality of officiating and play in the football fiesta so far, urging all to sustain the tempo.

Meanwhile, Udu will host Ughelli South at Ovwian Police Station on Saturday Aug. 30, while Okpe will be home against Uvwie on Sunday 31st Aug. at the Baptist High School football pitch, Orerokpe. Both matches will kick off at 3pm each day.
