The Adult Classes which kicked off today August 6, 2019 saw resourced persons tutoring participant which include Farmers, Traders and Artisans of the Community.

Speaking exclusively with our Reporter on Telephone, the International Director of Edewor Foundation, Prof. Rollison Edewor opined that the only way to reducing unemployment, restiveness and communal clashes is through education.

"The high level of illiteracy is alarming, especially among Rural dwellers. Hence we must join hands to bridge this gap by putting in place measures aimed at educating our youth, women and men" he noted

"When youth are properly educated and given the right tools to operate, restiveness, vandalism, kidnapping and other social vices will be a thing of the past. Edewor Foundation is poised towards ensuring free access to basic education among our Rural dwellers" he stated.

"Africa must not be left behind. All over the world, Africans are plying their expertise, knowledge and resourcefulness towards making the world a better place. It's time to look inward as Africans, no matter the level of fulfilment, accomplishment we have attained around the World, we must not forget our roots, our father's land"  he stated.

While calling on the Communities to avail themselves of this free Adult Literacy Class, Edewor stressed the need for Government to intervene with infrastructural development to boost the social economic life of these communities.

Participants at the Adult literacy class were presented with note books and other writing materials.

In a related development, Edewor Foundation is currently discussing with major Telecommunication Firms on the need to install Mast in order to boost communication and connectivity with rural dwellers.

Edewor stated that no Community should be left behind in this era of Information & Communication Technology, stressing that he was truly worried when he learnt of the challenges faced by indigenes of these communities trying to get connected to their friends and family members outside the community.

"We should not wait on government to get things done. As Nigerians in diaspora, we are duty bound to contribute to the social-economic growth of our communities" he stated.

"Some of these communities are totally not aware of happenings around them due to unavailability of network service providers. In this era of Technological innovations, no community should be left behind. The world is now a global village with ICT."

"We are discussing & negotiating with some major telecommunication giants to provide Mast to these communities and villages" he noted.
