As part of its core mandate to give meaning to lives and transform our society, an International NGO known as Edafeghwara Omos Foundation has commenced its Free skills acquisition training programme for youths, (boys and girls) women and men across the 25 LGAs of Delta State, Nigeria.

Speaking with media men at the opening event at Mosogar Town, the founder and initiator of the NGO, Engr. Omovigho Edafeghwara stated that the NGO is founded on a vision to transform youths, women and men through evidenced based programmes that focus on providing Empowerment to the people.
"We are committed in empowering youths, women to be self reliant by creating jobs through skills acquisition. Gone are those days when some persons, especially politicians will provide Bikes, Tricycle (popularly known as Keke) for youth. That's enslavement and not Empowerment. Why not convert such funds into opening business or trade? That's what we are going to change. The youth need orientations on what should be Empowerment, we are changing the narrative" he stated.
Engr. Omovigho while addressing the participants, called on them to take the training serious stating that "even a Professor needs a skill" to survive in our competitive world.
"After the training, our Monitoring & Evaluation Officers will be in touch with you to monitor your progress, give necessary guidance and also provide you with starter packs or interest free loans to enable you commence business without waiting on government to provide you with jobs" he stated.
The training which took place in Mosogar, Jesse and Oghara towns all in Ethiope west LGA from 28th to 30th of October, 2019 will be extended to the 25 LGAs of Delta State.
